Mike, Hello, I'm Franky and I'm from Los Angeles. I will be in DC this month on 21-23rd. I'm a big fan of the Smiths, Oasis and other Britpop bands. What places do you recommend? I really don't have a clue where to go. Any ideas? Thanks!!

I've mentioned the Coal Box indie dance night that's held every Friday at DC9

The Queen Vic on H St. NE has a great food and drink menu, and it shows football games on Sundays. It's too bad you weren't here last weekend, you could have joined us for our monthly Britpop brunch.

Also, the Codmother on U St. NW is supposed to be a good fish & chips place

If you like theater, the Source Festival is going on:

If anything else comes to mind, I'll post.

Thanks for the recommendtions. I was looking for at the codmother. That place sounds pretty cool. I think I might grab a few beers and fish and chips. Anyone want to meet up for drinks?

If you're a Doctor Who fan, the Black Cat is screening the episode "The Doctor's Daughter" at 7pm on Friday.

That same night, the band Chvrches is playing at the Black Cat. The concert's sold out, but maybe you can still find a ticket somewhere?

And depending on what time you leave on Sunday, you could catch a screening of Joss Whedon's "Much Ado About Nothing"
