Description: You have seen Android climb from a class Google ‘beta’ product to one of the leading mobile operating systems in use today worldwide. With Google TV, Android is also making the leap into the living room. With those plus other future opportunities, maybe you are considering getting into Android application development.
This presentation will review what Android is and the primary options for building Android applications. We will also discuss common concerns with Android application development, support resources, and how you can make money with Android.
Speaker: Mark Murphy, author of numerous books on the Android platform. Mark will be in town teaching an Android development class at Near Infinity, and has agreed to include a presentation to the NovaJUG during his trip.

Stephen M. HarmonGreat session. Very animated speaker. The information was very well organized, and made drilling into the details easier by providing a framework of fundamental concepts upon which to hang the many details.

Dean WagnerGreat speaker with entertaining style. I got a lot out of it. Could have had a little more code. Maybe a demo of something simple adjusting itself to different layouts or variation on the Hello World program. I'd give him 5 stars, but felt I needed to differentiate a little. I highly recommend this talk as a newbie.

Phillip WalkerVery good presentation... Mark really made the technology accessible to newbies and really piqued my interest in Android Development. It was interesting to find out that Android is not just for cell phones, but can exist on electronic devices, TVs, etc... Mark shared great reference material as well.
