Software Development Manager

Role Played: We are a growing organization that just secured funding with goal towards moderate to rapid growth, and currently have 20 developers all reporting to a single director. We are expanding into other sectors and we are looking to divide the management responsibilities to help our current teams work together better.
In the next 6 months, the Manager will lead 2-3 Agile teams as they deliver the Winter Release of our new Product, in addition to managing our strategy for integrating a company that we are planning on acquiring.
Manage several 6-8 member Agile scrum teams that develop and maintain the various components of our distributed system.
Manage inter-team coordination to ensure that all teams work together efficiently.
Serve as personnel manager for a portion of our development staff, who will be direct reports (recruitment, hiring, reviews, etc).
Understand and improve our software development life cycle (architecture, design, development, defect management, and release processes).
5+ years managing small-to-medium sized development teams.
5+ years of experience overseeing the design, development, and release of enterprise-wide, distributed software systems, with a focus on high quality extensible Java-based web applications.
Proven leadership, achievement and team-building capabilities plus outstanding strategic, analytical and organizational capabilities.
Experience with current development best practices and Agile methodologies.
