Bruce keeps getting a staph infection, due to his allergies the vet says. Anyone have any good tips to keep the infections down. Tried benedryl and that only helped a little. Thanks for any help you can give.

Bailey just recently got one and the vet gave her antibiotics to get rid of it, for now. I have been doing some research and talking to other bully owners and have found that giving Bailey a fish oil pill with omega 3-6-9 has really helped and her skin seems to be clearing up! The pill I am giving is Nature Made 3-6-9 Triple Omega (Fish, Flaxseed, Safflower & Olive Oils). Hope this helps!

In addition to the fish oil supplement, you might also want to try a product called Ox-E-Drops (www.nzymes.com). It is an antibacterial, anti-fungal and anti-viral. It can be applied topically (per the instructions on the bottle) as well as added to Bruce's food. This product has a multitude of uses as you will see if you visit the web site. I've used it religiously for 2 years in my English Mastiff's food as well as topically on his incision after he was neutered.

Additionally, the breeder that we acquired our little bully Izzy from recently imported a "bully baby" from England and, unfortunately, the pup developed a serious upper respiratory infection during transport. After administering Ox-E-Drops via nebulizer for a couple of days, she showed significant improvement and went on to a full recovery. The breeder's vet was very impressed with her rapid recovery.

Hope this helps.
