The DC Capital Striders Running Group began in Spring 2006. The group's primary purpose and vision is to allow runners of all endurance levels, paces, distances and months or years of running experience to run together in a non-competitive atmosphere and to get to know each other through a variety of social activities.

Runs are scheduled all throughout the week as well as weekends at various locations (both morning and evening) throughout the metropolitan Washington DC, Maryland and Northern Virginia region. Each run is open to any runner regardless of experience. It is highly suggested that you review the description of the run and determine whether or not it is right for you. Each run leader/organizer is experienced with the courses and can alter the course pending who is out there and what each runner is interested in. If you wish to join a run, please state in your RSVP the distance and pace that you project you might be interested in. This will allow the organizer to get feedback from the interested runners.

Many of the runs are located near metro stations to allow for easier access to the start locations. Some runs have vehicles available to store personal gear (work clothes, other items) but this is not always the case. If you wish to store personal gear, please state this in your RSVP as well; but be cautious cause vehicles may not always be available.
