Hi Everyone,

So, if anyone has any doubts about Hell-I hope the heat wave serves as a deterrent or at least a motivation to be sure! ;-) Honestly, Sunday's 103 degrees in Richmond more than sealed the deal for me and I promised, if I survived the extreme heat with a broken ac unit, I'd make better use of my talents and also consider a move to Seattle or Vancouver!

Following up on my promise, for the next month or so, I'll produce a series of comedic micro-shorts. These shorts require talent with an ability to improvise, quick wit, understanding of comedic timing and mastery of facial expression. Seriously!

At this time, I would like to receive headshots for the following characters

Asian Female Lawyer - early to mid 30s - she's strong, meticulous, polished and with an appearance of perfection and a misleading sweet, friendly facial expression. Your character will need to remain in character while riding as a passenger in a chauffeur-driven vehicle.

Family A - couple in their early to mid 20s with a child/baby who are barely making ends meet as they pursue their artistic passions*

Family B- highly educated couple in their mid to late 40s with 2-3 teenage children who fell on hard times with the recession

Family C - urban couple w/ baby carriage and dog or toddler and dog and live in a loft or home they remodeled in a trendy neighborhood*

Homeless Woman - age unimportant, but must be able to walk with a limp.

Homeless Man - age unimportant, but will play the role of a military veteran.

* I don't expect the dog and baby to meet all of the talent requirements;)

The filming will take place in a park like setting, so if you have grass allergies-this is not the project for you. But, not to worry, there will be more opportunities-just, not this one::) Okay?

As I said, my project consists of micro-shorts and the filming is a half day. The micro-breakdown grouping and identification of characters will give you and idea of what I need and hopefully help you in your submission process.

Please don't feel the need to go get professional photos-if you don't have one already. If you have a family already fitting the descriptions of Family A, B and C-do submit a family photo- Nikon's click, point and shoot images or casual photo in which it is all about you work as well as a professional portrait - just send as a jpg file with medium resolution.

If you are yearning for a family and cannot bring one to the shoot-don't worry! Please send me your photo and, if invited to participate, I'll provide you one for purposes of this shoot! What happens after the shoot is all on you and, of course, them.

If you have a family and are interested in trading them in; well, it's just not that kind of shoot. But, we welcome your imagination, energy and enthusiasm by way of the characters outlined.

This is a non-union shoot - translation - micro-budget. Yes, there's food and because it is an early morning shoot-it's breakfast instead of twizzlers, redbull and cold pizza (not that there's anything wrong with that, but I'm sure those familiar with film sets know what I mean:).

Is there compensation? Yes, but it is nominal and if you are doing it for the money-you'll probably be disappointed and it'll suck for everyone including this poster who is struggling enough to simply manage the heat! Most importantly, I'm promising my crew a fun, efficient shoot that doesn't suck!

Why work on this project? Beyond asking you nicely for your participation and promising an efficient shoot, I will get you a timely copy for your reel, I'm an award-winning filmmaker -Panavision New Filmmaker Award recipient, I've collaborated with others and the finished product went on to win awards, such as the Paul Robeson Fox Searchlight Audience Award and even make it to Cannes, this project is guaranteed to screen on an internet tv station for a comedy enterprise launching in August, and I've learned invaluable lessons from past mistakes-both mine and others.

This Part is Really, Really Important- with your submission, please type in the subject header "only" your character submission. Please do not type your name or referral source in the subject header-it will be deleted. And, seriously, if you don't satisfy the description-please don't submit-it's annoying. Really. Even more seriously, our makeup artist doesn't do that kind of magic, we'll be filming in natural light primarily, and some things cannot be fixed in post-contrary to popular conventions and, in particular, on a micro-budget.

We welcome your submissions no later than July 2. And, we'll reply promptly. Submissions after July 2 will not be considered.

If you have an interest in potential crew opportunities-send an email and we'll reply.

For the future postings, I'll work on producing a micro-email:) It's a promise!

Thanks so much for your time and interest,

Arlene
