Settlers Potluck Night in Bethesda

  • July 22, 2013 · 6:30 PM

Back by popular demand, Rolf is hosting another games meetup at the Rolfenhouse. This time the theme is Settlers of Catan. There should be multiple Settlers games going on at once, each with different expansions. Bring your own Settlers board + expansion sets if you have any and list them on your RSVP so we know what to expect.

Rolfs place has easy parking access and is a long walk from the Bethesda metro station. Directions will be sent on the day of the event to those who RSVPed yes by Monday morning.

This will be potluck format, so bring something to eat and/or drink. We are all adults, so it is OK to bring adult friendly beverages. Hope to see you there.

Thanks for letting me play last night. I enjoyed it, except for the outcomes. Good luck, Rolf, in your new adventure. I can host in the future if folks are willing to come "out to the country" to Laytonsville.

What are generally good nights for your group? I was thinking a Sunday evening?

A great night with (I think) 100% attendance (a new record!) and delicious food and plenty of chairs and tables. Great job everyone! Best wishes and safe travels, Rolf!

If you are attending, you should have received the address just now. See you tonight.

Looks like we have a full house for Monday.

If anyone has additional chairs, Settlers boards, or Settlers expansions that they can bring along to accommodate more people, let me know.

Additional chairs to bring along are appreciated either way.

Is there room for one more off the waitlist?

Nick: yes, I'll take it all. Extra table space would be helpful too. Bring as much as you can. I have about six GOOD chairs, and not quite enough to accommodate everyone after you include foldups + makeshift solutions.

We will explain the game to anyone who's new to Settlers, but if you want an early overview, this video will show you how it works: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FURoYf5IXRA

It would be cool to play Settlers of America again... I think we've only played once.

Great, but I can't go now, but will go later. I just played on the Catlan page so I sort of know the rules...it looks really fun and won't blame anyone if I get hooked...hope you trade with people you don't know!!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
