HIKE Past Old Country Homes in Northwest DC

This will be a two-part day. We can start the day with a little fitness hike, then finish off with a tour of the Hillwood Mansion and Gardens.
Sign up for one, or the other, or both.

For the Hike, we'll start at Tenleytown and check out some of the still remaining 19th-century country estates. I'm thinking of the Loughborough Mansion by Tenley Circle, then Springdale, Rosedale, Tall Oaks, Tregaron and the Klingle Mansion; before we meet up at Hillwood for the tour.

If anyone knows of other big, old houses in the area between Wisconsin Avenue and Rock Creek, from Albemarle down to Cathedral Street, send in your suggestions.

It was a very beautifil hike.
John had found lovely old houses and parks and “secret gardens for the walk.” You don’t know what you have missed.

East and West Falls Church metro stations will closed tomorrow so I won't be able to get to DC in time.

My knee should be better by mid-May. If not I'll see you at the gardens in the afternoon.
