We'll wander about Glen Echo and Cabin John, two early trolley suburbs of D.C. Our starting point is the original home of the American Red Cross, established by Clara Barton after the Civil War. Then we'll take a little hike through the Glen Echo neighborhood, then down to the C&O Canal. We'll walk downriver, then cross on a pedestrian bridge back up to MacArthur Blvd, where there is an Irish Inn. Beyond the inn is the old Glen Echo Amusement Park, now an arts park run by the National Park Service. Our starting point is the parking lot at the other end of the park.
Clara Barton's final home is shown to the public by guided tour only.
Tours start on the hour between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm.

Note, if you are late for the 11:00 am tour, you'll have to wait for another chance
