The unusual style of the book very effectively personalizes the eperience of a groupl of Japanese immigrants, mainly women, from their entry into California through World War II.

New to the area and would like to join a book club. This book sounds great but I don't think I can make it on the 10th :( I'll look forward to the next book choice!
