This is a weekly ride.

Contact me for delays, or questions:[masked]FOUR

For directions: Google doesn't show the park well. The address above will not get you exactly where we are meeting. If you look at the map as a sat image, you'll see the main driveway, which doesn't show up in map view, Make a left at the end of the driveway, the parking lot is right there. We will be next to the bathrooms/basketball courts near the playground.

Please comment on what time you will be attending when you RSVP

Use the link below as a TOOL to match your skill level and fitness. The Levels are rated 1-5.

About Fairland: 95% non-technical ride with few major climbs and no mandatory obstacles (they all have ride-arounds). Promise, no rocks. None! (there is one section of busted-up concrete, but it's not rocks, and it's only 10-15 feet long). Anyway, there are a couple good places to stop and practice log-overs, and balance on the boardwalks, and some good flow trails.

Intermediate Pace loop (Skill Level 4 / Fitness level between 3/4 (5 miles or so)

We will wait up at intersections, but most likely will start rolling when the last rider catches up. Fast paced, uphills kill me but I will do my best to get you guys a good run lol.

2nd Loop Beginner Friendly (Skill level between 2-3 / Fitness level 2 (about 7 miles or so)

A bit of a fast pace (will make stops at intersections if needed and short breaks).

Beginners, 2nd loop shooting for wheels rolling at 6:30.

Please keep in mind that this loop is to encourage beginners to join us, patience is needed from the faster riders, if you wish for a fast competitive pace, this is not the ride for you.

What to bring:

Plenty of water, helmet (no helmet no ride), your mtb of course!, multi-tool (although you can borrow mine), patch kit, extra tube (make sure it has the same valve you need for your wheel), a snack if you're doing both loops.

Note: Please read the document "Meetup Ride Waiver" (found under menu: More > Files > Meetup Ride Waiver) before attending this event. Mountain biking is an inherently dangerous sport, and by attending this ride, you acknowledge and have read, agree to and fully understand the aforementioned waiver.

Awesome time as usual, already ordered the new cassette, amazon prime so I'll have it this week, I'll be back next Tuesday! Think I have come up with a way to fix my brake howling too! Be sure to laugh at my fix when you see it. Always fun riding with you guys, worth the trip from Frederick.

I was on my way, just couldn't make it. Next time. What, no crash photos this ride? LOL!

    1 · July 9, 2013

    • Kem C.

I actually tumbled over a log over, and also cracked my helmet when hitting a downed branch in a section we barely do, and I didn't see at all, but I wasn't recording lol.

all the single speeders are getting sick today . . There are only 2 left myself and Rob. LOL

      July 9, 2013

  • Chris E.

Against doctors orders, long as the Sky's are clear, I'll be there for the 630 loop. I may try to make 530, but if I'm not there by roll time, go without me.

    July 9, 2013

    • Chris E.

Looks like its blowing through pretty quick though, game time decision for me, I'm going for the 630

      The radar states 40% at 4:00 p.m. - and 5% at 5 p.m. and 0% from 6 p.m. - 9 p.m.

Looking at 2 different weather forecasts, we should be ok for at least the first loop, second loop is questionable. According to Accuweather, there is a 53% chance of t-storms at 7PM, and weather.com says 0% at 7PM. Unless it starts pouring non-stop from now and 5:00, this ride is still on.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
