Laurel Hill has several interconnected loops, ranging from paved to gravel to open fields to wooded hills. Most trails are relatively smooth (although very narrow in places), with some rooty sections and a few uphill switchbacks that will get you puffing. Total ride will be about 8 miles.
Host: Gunner / Bill. I am a beginner / intermediate rider, so some of you may very well want to go faster than I do. If so we can split up. I have ridden here a few times, but am still learning all he trails, so if you come please understand there may be some trying out of routes and trails I haven't ridden. We will be skipping the most difficult loops.
If it rains a little the trails should still be fine, as Laurel Hill tends to drain pretty quickly.
Meet up in the parking lot near the playground at 8:30.
I strongly suggest bug repellant, glasses, gloves and plenty of water.
The Meetup site is down for maintenance on Sunday morning. If for some reason this is cancelled (e.g., weather), I will post on the DC Area Craigs List under "Events."
There has been a "chance of rain" forecast for the last 3 days and into next week. Unless it's actually raining, or about to, I plan on going.
