  • All the fun with half the calories (burned, that is).  A relatively informal romp from Rockburn Branch Park into Morning Choice Trail in Patapsco...and possibly beyond...  Slower than your average intermediate ride but more technically demanding than your average beginner ride, the vibe here will be pretty casual.

    Ride Leaders: Brian

Please call me or post here if you suddenly can't make it or are running a few minutes late. Try to be ready to ride on time (good idea to get there 15 minutes early). If you've never been here, it's a good idea to get here even earlier so you're not late and stressed out.  We will try to accommodate everyone, but will leave the lot promptly 15 minutes after the listed time.

This will be a relatively easy average pace with some moderately technical terrain. Realistically evaluate your fitness and skill level.  We'll regroup at key spots and will break as needed.  Though this is a no-drop ride, be realistic, as there are some technical, rocky spots and lots of logs and roots.

Directions: Follow the above address.  Upon entering the park, go to almost the end of the lane and turn right at the steep uphill.  There should be a sign at the uphill for the skills park.  We'll gather by the skills park official sign at the top of the hill.

    What to bring:

    Helmet (no helmet, no ride)

Mountain Bike (hybrid bikes are usually sketchy on trails)

Snack (salty will help avoid cramps)

Multi-Tool (although you can borrow one)

    Patch Kit

    Extra Tube

Note: Please read the document "Meetup Ride Waiver" (found under menu: More > Files > Meetup Ride Waiver) before attending this event. Mountain biking is an inherently dangerous sport, and by attending this ride, you acknowledge and have read, agree to and fully understand the aforementioned waiver.

Hi folks. Bad news...maybe. I need to change the time of this by 6 hours...I now have a church gig in the morning. For some, that'll make the schedule easier...for others, worse. Apologies! It was a bit of a surprise to me, too. The good news? Great weather and not too hot! I'm going to cancel this one and repost at the new time so it's announced to everyone to give people a chance to re-evaluate whether or not they want to reschedule. Thanks for your patience, and sorry if it ends up inconvenient!

While I don't know anyone on here I'm really looking to do more riding with a group! I just hope I can keep up..

I'm really trying to judge what group I fit in on here, intermediate or advanced. I think I'm an intermediate to advanced rider, but there is no way I could keep up with the guys racing. I just don't have the motor to keep up...My new ride is giving me way more confidence than I had on my old GT 26er HT. This new 29er FS, is what caused me to have the road rash in my profile picture (trying to do something, and fell pretty hard)...Anyway, I've been trying to resurrect my old riding buddies, to no avail. So, I'm looking for some new people to ride with now. I feel much more safe about riding in a group than by myself, especially after this last hard fall I took...

I've only been one one ride with these folks. It was a Intermediate ride. The pace started out pretty quick but as people fatigued, the breaks got longer and we rode slower. If you've ridden before or are in decent physical shape, you'll probably be ok.
