Fairland Tuesday

Sun is setting earlier now, check for time change...

Contact me for delays, I want to start on time but can wait a few mins

For directions: Google doesn't show the park well. The address above will not get you exactly where we are meeting. If you look at the map as a sat image, you'll see the main driveway, which doesn't show up in map view, Make a left at the end of the driveway, the parking lot is right there. We will be next to the bathrooms/basketball courts near the playground.

Please comment on what time you will be attending when you RSVP

About Fairland: 95% non-technical ride with few major climbs and no mandatory obstacles (they all have ride-arounds). Promise, no rocks. None! (there is one section of busted-up concrete, but it's not rocks, and it's only 10-15 feet long). Anyway, there are a couple good places to stop and practice log-overs, and balance on the boardwalks, and some good flow trails.

First loop (About 5 Miles) Moderate/Fast:

This pace is intended for the experience rider who wishes to push themselves above the average pace. These rides will seldom have regular breaks and require a significant level of fitness and bike handling skills in order to stay with the group.

2nd Loop Beginner Friendly Casual/Moderate:

While still laid back and “casual” in nature this pace will have fewer stops/breaks along the way. Often times stronger riders will lead and attend a casual/moderate pace if the aim of the ride is more social in nature. Riders with an average level of fitness and at least a few months of regular riding under their belts should do fine on this level of ride.

Beginners, 2nd loop shooting for wheels rolling at 6:00pm.

Please keep in mind that this loop is to encourage beginners to join us, patience is needed from the faster riders, if you wish for a fast competitive pace, this is not the ride for you.

What to bring:

Plenty of water, helmet (no helmet no ride), your mtb of course!, multi-tool (although you can borrow mine), patch kit, extra tube (make sure it has the same valve you need for your wheel), a snack if you're doing both loops.

Note: Please read the document "Meetup Ride Waiver" (found under menu: More > Files > Meetup Ride Waiver) before attending this event. Mountain biking is an inherently dangerous sport, and by attending this ride, you acknowledge and have read, agree to and fully understand the aforementioned waiver.

Ladies, gents. Here's my belated video:

    http://youtu.be/9eCFaZ2sKFU

Wanna see and hear Travis sing? It's in there. Like ABBA? Good! Also, I'm trying to make shorter videos. This is under 6 minutes.

    Enjoy!

you also need a stable platform, a little more time on the bike would do it.

Great ride with friendly and patient people. This was my first meetup with this group and it was great, and also my first attempt at group riding a natural terrain trail. I'm a total beginner, and I really appreciated the encouragement the group offered as we went along.

Jeff...YOU ARE COMING OUT NEXT TIME!! YOU WILL DEMOLISH THE TRAILS...SUBJUGATE THEM WITH THE POWER OF YOUR WILL...THEY WILL FEAR THE APPROACH OF YOUR DOMINANCE. Or something similar. I hope you come out again next time!

Fairland handed me my butt today, a few scratches and bruises but its part of the game. I think Jose will share one of the wrecks lol. So great to see many new riders, and some familiar faces, thanks for coming out today. Thanks to Ian for leading second group, and Jose for taking care of the first loop.
