I can't make the epic Tuesday rides at Fairland but I still really want to ride during the week. Thor's day might be a little out of my reach still as well. How about a low pressure, casual ride at Fairland? I'd like to leave by 5:30 to beat the sun. Come on out and join me!
Please call if you suddenly can't make it or are running a few minutes late. (fife-se'en-won)too-for-fife-fife-six-too-oh) If you've never been to Fairland try to give yourself a few extra minutes as it is a little tricky to find the lot the first time.
For directions: Google doesn't show the park well. The address above will not get you exactly where we are meeting. Take the driveway all the way down to the basketball courts, bathroom, and playground. That's where we'll meet. Look for a blue volkswagen golf.
About Fairland: 95% non-technical ride with few major climbs and no mandatory obstacles (they all have ride-arounds). There are a couple good places to stop and practice log-overs, balance on the boardwalks, and some good flowing trails.
Advice for True Beginners:
We will NOT be riding on pavement! It's all DIRT, gravel, sand, etc. Again...we will not be riding on paved trails!
Bring water and a little food (even if you don't think you'll need it).
What to bring:
Helmet (no helmet, no ride)
Mountain Bike (Hybrid bikes are usually sketchy on trails)
Snack (salty will help avoid cramps)
Multi-Tool (although you can borrow one)
Note: Please read the document "Meetup Ride Waiver" (found under menu: More > Files > Meetup Ride Waiver) before attending this event. Mountain biking is an inherently dangerous sport, and by attending this ride, you acknowledge and have read, agree to and fully understand the aforementioned waiver.
