Intermediate / Fast Patapsco from CCBC

By request of the riders from last Weekend, and sign up dont just show up.

What: Intermediate / Fast Pace at Patapsco State Park

Where: Patapsco State Park, Avalon Area, via the CCBC Catonsville Tennis Court Parking Lot #6.

Pace: Approx. 8 to 10 mph. Good for most average riders, not so much for beginners. This is a no-drop ride, you may feel that you are drop but we will wait up for everyone at intersections If needed. (Note: We will adjust to the group dynamics, and Racer X hopefully will not be disappointed).

Terrain: Ranges from moderate to difficult. Some of the trails are fairly smooth, and there are a few steep climbs, rocks and technical sections, and a stream crossing or two, just be advised that the terrain can be difficult in places.

Distance: Approx. 15–18 miles (not sure of exact route yet). At least half of it is down hill (ha-ha!).

Duration: Approx. 2.5–3 hours, depending on group dynamics, trail conditions, wait-ups, mechanicals and/or number of breaks (we will take at least one 10–15 min. break to refill if needed). And dont forget that when I crash we may spent 10 min, LOL.

Directions: CCBC (Community College of Baltimore County) Catonsville Campus, 800 South Rolling Road, Baltimore, MD 21228-5317. Meet at back parking lot (#6), near the tennis courts and ball fields. At CCBC entrance, take Campus Drive to the back of the campus, where the tennis courts are. Look for bikes. This link is real close:  +39° 15' 0.00", -76° 44' 9.61"

Bring: Helmet (required), water, spare tube/patch kit, multi-tool, I.D., emergency contact info where it can be easily located on your person.

Weather: Shine Only (no ride if it's raining or the trails are too muddy). Protect our trails and don't ride them when they're fragile.

Ride Leader: Jose ,[masked]ThreeFourone.

Call/text ride leader if you have any questions.

Note: Please read the document "Meetup Ride Waiver" (found under menu: More > Files > Meetup Ride Waiver) before attending this event. Thanks Kem and Brian for the headsup on trail conditions but it appears that some missed the memo, LOL. For those of you who got some 1 on 1 quality time with the trail I hope nothing serious cause it always hurst, LOL. The trails were really moist and hard to read due to the leafs, but as it warmed up it got good. I had a great time today thank you guys for coming out. Doing it again next Sat? I know I am.

Patapsco was pretty slippery today. Do be careful. Kem, how did the bike feel?
