Ride for Sustainable Food in Prince George's County

Some of us grad students at University of Maryland are doing a fund raiser for an Urban Farm in Edmonston (near college park) to build a bike stop along the Anacostia Tributary Trails. The stop will have a picnic table, water fountain, bike rack, air pump, and an information sign that highlights the rich heritage of African American agriculture in the area (specifically Adam Francis Plummer who was a freed slave that farmed to earn money and reunite his family after the Civil War). The farm also holds workshops to teach underprivileged youth about nutrition and growing food in the midst of a food desert. The farm has a grant from the state for the bike stop but we need to raise matching dollars, otherwise they will lose the grant. We are organizing a fundraising bike ride for May 3rd at 10:30 AM. It is a 10 mile ride that will go from UMD campus to the farm and culminates in an open house at the farm. This link has more information about our event:

and we are asking people to sign up and pay a suggested donation to help make the bike stop a reality. It would be great if this meetup group of avid riders could be a part of this ride and help donate to the cause!

Cool idea. The link seems to be broken though. Is there a place to donate if you can't come to the ride?
