Fairland Wednesday Meeting behind the Ice Ring

Due to a change of shift at work and until further notice this will be my last night ride; Intermediate Level 2.5 ride..... I'll like to complete 2 loops for a total ride of 14 miles.

Meeting behind The Gardens Ice House. We will come out of the trail for the 2nd loop and meet those interested in riding at 5:15 pm, it's getting dark earlier and most likely will end up as a night ride, so bring your lights because we will not be responsible for those stubborn trees jumping in front of you, LOL.

Please indicate at what time you will be showing up when you RSVP.

Use the link below as a TOOL to match your skill level and fitness (I could not find better source). The Levels are rated 1-5.

Beginners are welcome for the 5:15 PM 2nd loop, but keep in mind that it will be dark (Bring your lights). We want to keep a fast pace (we will make stops at intersections as necessary), the trail is 95% non-technical with few major climbs and some mandatory obstacles (most have ride-around). No rocks. None! (There is one section of busted-up concrete, but it's not rocks, and it's only 10-15 feet long). Anyway, there are a couple good places to stop and practice log-overs, and balance on the boardwalks, and some good flow trails.

For directions: Google doesn't show the park well. The address above will not get you exactly where we are meeting. If you look at the map as a sat image, you'll see the main driveway, which doesn't show up in map view, Make a left at the end of the driveway, the parking lot is right there.

Thanks for another exhausting ride. :) I guess a new Wed/ Thurs torchbearer is needed.

Fairland was my 1st ever Meetup ride and it’s with great sadness as previously announced and until further notice that I am putting my night/evening rides to rest. I have met a crazy number of great riders at Fairland who I will miss, but hope that we can continue to ride at other locations. I thank you all for taking the time to come out and I hope you guys enjoyed my Scheduled rides. Thank you all for tolerating my nonsense and helping me improve my MTB skills. Remember “JUST GET OFF THE BRAKES” and know that you have a friend/rider you can count on. Special thanks to John for my parting gift.

Note to all ... the 9 January ride will be Jose's last until his work schedule allows him to return. Celebrate Jose's leadership and generosity by joining him for this final ride. I plan to bring him an adult beverage that he can share with his wife. Does anyone know Jose's preference? Better yet, his wife's preference? LOL as Jose would say.
