Hope everyone is excited for a really fun night...we have over 125 people on the guestlist. Couple quick updates:
- The Graham has added $7 glasses of wine to our specials tonight...you're welcome Erika.
- When you arrive tonight, find an organizer or host for a wristband...this will get you all the specials and access to all the venues without waiting in line and with no cover.
- George just added $4 Heinkens to their specials tonight.
UPDATE 1 - DRINK SPECIALS
Very Important - If you havent already, email [masked] your full name for the guest list on Saturday night. L2 is a members-only club/lounge and they are requiring us to send a guest list by Friday. If you do not email your full name, I cannot guarantee that you can get into the third venue.
Please be sure to update your rsvp if you will not be able to attend. We have closed the meet-up for rsvp's, as we are at 90. So, if you are a "Yes" and do not show, you are taking a spot from someone on the waitlist.
And remember, take a look below for info on Lyft...it is a great (and free) way to get a ride to/from the metro to Georgetown. Enter code 4CY5ZK for $10 in your account - that's like a ride back and forth.
Here are the drink specials...
Venue 1 - $4 Peroni's, and an $8 speciality cocktail (more info to come)
Venue 2 - $5 Barcardi drinks and $20 shotskis (actual snow ski with 5 holes for tequila shots to do with 4 (new) friends
Venue 3 - Meet-up Special (Svedka Vodka, Apricot Brandy, Passion Fruit, Line Juice and Bitters
Time to pop your pastel LaCoste collars, put your visor on backwards/upside-down and learn some lacrosse terms, bro...cause we're heading to Georgetown in November.
There is a dress-code for this crawl...the last venue is dress-to-impress. No sneakers or torn jeans, etc.
FIRST VENUE (8:30pm - 10pm) - Words cannot describe the view from The Observatory at The Graham Hotel...its a little boutique hotel just off of M St that has a truly hidden gem of a lounge on the rooftop. Probably the best views of the Arlington skyline, but the lounge wraps all the way around the building. They are super excited to have us and will be offering beer and drink specials to our group. Once I actually get those, they will be posted. DO NOT miss this venue...they just opened a couple months ago and it was super cool when we checked it out. Yes, it is an open air rooftop, but they had covers and heaters, so it was quite comfortable up there.
SECOND VENUE (10pm - 11:30pm) - We've been here before, and they were super cool to our group last time...so we figured why not party there again. But we will be heading to George, a private club that has a long history in Georgetown. In fact, I think George Washington himself actually dined here from time to time. And this venue is going to be trouble...they are offering $5 Barcardi and RBV's, and $20 Tequila Shotski's - what is a Shotski? Its a snow ski with 5 holes for shot glasses that you and four friends all lift and drink at once...like I said, trouble.
THIRD VENUE (11:30pm - 2am) - One of the most beautiful clubs/lounges in DC, we will be heading to a little know private club called L2. We had an event there a couple years ago and they are welcoming us back with open arms. This is a private, member-only club, with no weird restrictions on any of their space, e.g. you dont need to buy a bottle to sit at any of their awesome couches or lounging areas.
GETTING THERE - Georgetown can be a bit of a pain since there is no metro there, but our new organizer Lee is already showing his value...there is a new Uber type service in DC called Lyft - its a ride-sharing app that is cheaper than any cab. Simply download the app and once you are registered add the code 4CY5ZK for $10 in credits. That is more than enough to get you to any of the venues...and if you make a friend, either on the message board or at the venues, you could Lyft-pool there and back for free.
Closest metro is Foggy Bottom, then about a 12 min walk down M. Street to the first venue.
Georgetown was founded by the Germans in 1914, and while the translation has offically been lost, some believe it roughly translates to "a whale's gentials". Others believe that it was founded in 1751 and is named after George II of Britian...but who are you going to believe, us or Wikipedia?
Regardless, Georgetown remained a seperate entity from DC until 1871, when Congress incorporated the well-known port into the District of Columbia. The neighborhood is known world-wide as the backdrop for the critcally-acclaimed children's film "The Exorcist", and home to many influential americans including Thomas Jefferson when he was VP to John Adams, and John F Kennedy, when he was serving in Congress.
Today, Georgetown is known for not having a metro stop, college kids, and an epic party down M Street the weekend before Halloween.
LEGAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Disclaimer: Keep in mind your organizers reserve the right to omit, change, or substitute venues as seen fit depending on the group dynamics, scheduling, and available space. The pub crawl officially ends at midnight but I'm sure most of us will be out well past that. An Additional Disclaimer: Yes, it's perfectly fine if you choose to get intoxicated, drunk, blitzed, plastered, wasted, toasted, smashed, or pissed. However, make sure you have a friend present to take on any applicable baby sitting duties.
Reminder: Due to the limited number of RSVP's available and the expected popularity of this outing, please RSVP only if you plan to come out (likewise, if things change, please un-RSVP). Also, while we love meeting new faces, everyone is strongly encouraged to RSVP through the web site or be a guest of a member. The cover is almost always waived for our groups and the first thing most venues want is our RSVP list. Please remember to get to the first venue early enough to mingle, and certainly early enough to join us as we move on to the second venue.
