Not an entpreneur yet, just checking it out, will be working on some coding exercises, hoping to meet folks of like minds. What's the parking like in the area?

The quality and presentation of your constructive criticism has been noted by all in this forum. Given that Affinity Labs is one of the - perhaps even the - oldest continuously operating coworking space in the world, and that they have dues-paying members whose use of the space would be infringed upon by an earlier starttime more convenient to some of our non-dues paying members, if I were in its management, I certainly would give it all the consideration it merits.

Night Owls at Affinity Lab is hosted by me. I am a member of Affinity Lab but I don't work for them or have any financial relationship other than being a member. Affinity Lab lets its members, me, host events. I have no financial stake in hosting it, I simply love nightowls and it gives me the same environment Affinity Lab has during the day at hours closer to the ones I work.

Came to DC Nightowls to work on 1 of the 3 startups I am part of and found a competitor for one startup, a competition for the second to enter and ran into people who were interested in the third. Wow. Definitely worth my time.

      Awesome-possum-sauce.

Likewise, chatted with a new person-of-interest, JBaller, tonight. And, was able to help out a friend, Brian Frankel, with venue scheduling issues for his growing meetup.

Helping each other is what DCNO is all about. *smile*

I know, factually, that the U Street area is a bear to find parking even at the start time. Frankly, there are place more amenable to parking availability and Metro time frame. Since the concept of "nightowl" is to go late into the night/early morning, arriving at 1030pm is certainly understandable as being up at 830 is not really considered "nightowling"...ymmv though.

Not every event is convenient to every member. We move the event between different venues to account for that. DCNO is a volunteer run organization, and dependent on the generosity of the venue owners. We are open to members organizing and hosting events at new venues. Kevin does so for Affinity Lab. You are welcome to do so.

Totally understood, Ram. I would have come tonite via Metro (knowing the parking situation) and left in time to catch it back home, but I had a last minute schedule conflict.

I'm a freelance researcher in need of some fellow driven people to keep from going insane! I've never done one of these before. Is there a fee or suggested donation? Do I bring snacks?

There is no fee or donation. You are welcome to bring snacks if you would like but it's not expected or required.
