There's been considerable interest in organizing for an outing when it finally snows in Washington. Neither we or our local meteorologists (take your pick of Bob Ryan, Doug Hill, Sue Palka, or Topper Shutt) can tell when it's going to snow, but here's the plan...
1. RSVP as Yes for this event if you are interested in braving the elements to take photos of the monuments (we're thinking of starting with the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, Korean War Veterans Memorial, and the WWII Memorial on the National Mall).
2. The first time we hear that it will snow with accumulation of at least a quarter to a half inch, we'll get the communication in motion and send out a "go / no-go" email.
3. When it snows and it's a "go", we'll meet up at the announced time and location, probably either at one of the memorials and/or at Foggy Bottom Metro Station to walk over.
We think this will be fun, just as long as everyone promises not to do anything silly (dangerous) to meet up if conditions are treacherous.
