After several months on my to-do list, we're finally kicking off our Sunday Quarterly Series.

The purpose of the Sunday Quarterly is to:

  • Allow for members to meet and greet fellow members of our meetup group
  • Provide an opportunity for those who cannot make the Wednesday monthly meetups to share their latest work and ideas
  • Have an informal gathering place to relax, socialize, and talk about anything and everything photographic

Unlike the Wednesday monthly meetings, there will not be a regular location for the Sunday Quarterly. Instead, we will choose locations around town that are willing to host us. The inaugural quarterly will be at Cafe Pizzaiolo in Crystal City (Metro: Blue Line), co-sponsored/co-organized by one of our long-time regular members, Karman Lee, who is hosting an opening reception for her exhibit there at the same time.

Light refreshments will be served in conjunction with Karman's opening reception, but the restaurant has pizzas, paninis, espresso, gelato, and wine available for order as well.

Optional things to bring:

  • Your camera if you want to practice or ask questions about it.
  • A few recent prints if you want to share with others.
  • Your laptop if you have things online you want to share. Free wireless is available.
  • A list of ideas and suggestions for future events.

If you aren't aware of it already, please read our About Us page for our three strikes RSVP / no-show policy.

The Sunday Quarterly is more of a free form event: the event is what you want to make out of it.

p.s. My apologies for the short notice -- work, grad school stuff, and other general life things often pull precedence on my schedule :)

So glad everyone could make it out! I had a great time chatting with everyone, talking gear, seeing photos, sharing ideas. The wine tasting was pretty good too :) I couldn't have asked for a better way to spend my Sunday afternoon -- looking forward to the next quarterly!
    •  A lively and informative Sunday afternoon regarding all things photography.
    •  This was the first meeting that I was able to attend. It was a very pleasant experience. I met new people, learned a little Photoshop, and was able to share information that I had found useful. Great time all around. KL's exhibit was excellent. The wine tasting was a particularly nice touch.
    •  What can I say, nice photos, nice people, great food, wine and beer! Excellent afternoon. Thanks for putting this together. Willy.

I had a great time. Cool photography on display plus the other attendees were friendly and generous with the tips and comments. I'd go again.
    •  Excellent! It was my first one, and I met a ton of interesting, motivated photographers. Can't wait for more!
    •  The Antipasto was great as well as the Tiramisu Gelato... oh! And cool photogs too!
