Location: National Museum of the Marine Corps
Date: Sunday, February 8th at 10:00AM
Our itinerary: Photowalk: Museum and low light photography.
The Marine Corp museum is relatively new and offers a host of exhibits and architectural photo opportunities. Take advantage of the lighting and practice your low light capturing skills or you can simply snap away with the point and shoot. Browse through their website and get a feel of the building. It looks spectacular.
What to wear: We'll be inside!
Admission: Free. This Meetup: Free!
Camera equipment: Bring what you desire. The photo policy is very liberal [read the following]
--Photography Policy:
The National Museum of the Marine Corps encourages you to take photographs and video during your visit. Flash photography is NOT allowed in the vicinity of the Iwo Jima flag, and the area is posted accordingly. The Museum reserves the right to post other areas as needed to ensure that fragile objects are protected.
Photographers using tri-pods or similar devices should be respectful of others. On especially busy days, the Museum may restrict use of such devices to ensure visitor safety and the flow of foot traffic throughout the galleries.
Directions: Ride sharing is suggested. Post your ride sharing info on the message board. Don't forget a contribution for gas.
--From I-95 heading south, take Exit 150A to Route 1 (Jefferson Davis Highway); turn right (south) onto Route 1; travel approximately ¼ mile; the Museum’s entrance is on the right.
Please email me if you have any questions. This will be my first visit so I'll post a meeting place soon. Maybe a gathering at a local coffee house or lunch afterward to preview the fantastic images. I will see you there!
