Date: Thursday, March 12th at 6:00PM We’ll gather at the base of the memorial steps.

Our itinerary: Photostitching with night photography. An informal exploration of the technique and share different point of views. Series 2 of 3.

Think outside the box. The traditional days of single shot and exposing for the highlights are no longer the only game in town. Programs like Adobe CS3/4 and Microsoft Photosynth make this process easy. Either you'll have some that are perfectly stitched or a ransom note like pattern, it's going to be fun.

All members, skill and equipment level are welcomed. It'll be a fun and not too techy gathering.

Camera equipment: Tripod will beneficial. Wide angle lens will play havoc on verticle lines. Short telephoto lens is recommended. Point and shoot cameras? Always welcomed!

In the past they had stopped me from using a Tripod when I was inside the monument. However on the stairs and other places, I think it should be ok.

They are back and forth withthe tripod rule. We are obviously not professionals. If we cant, then there should be fair amount of day light at 6PM. We can use the legs outside of the memorial.

I've tried to shoot at the Jefferson Memorial before with a tripod and was told by security that they weren't allowed. The guard made me put my tripod away. Has that rule changed?
