Our itinerary: Photowalk: Smithsonian Folklife Festival 2009
The Smithsonian Folklife Festival is a special annual event sponsored each June-July by the Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage celebrating cultural traditions around the world. The Folklife Festival includes daily and evening music and dance performances, crafts and cooking demonstrations, storytelling and discussions of cultural issues. The themes of the 2009 program will be: Giving Voice: The Power of Words (African American Culture), The Americas and Wales.
Admission: Free
Camera equipment: A long lens would be helpful. Point and shoot are always welcomed.
What to pack: WATER! We'll be in the midst of a Washington summer.
Directions: Metro - Smithsonian on the Blue/Orange line.

Mark+1 guestI did not take any of my typical photos as I typically take Architectural photos, but after taking a few photos of dancers, and a couple kids, we ended up in the Indian Museum down the road and got some really good shots. We ended up in the Hirshhome (SP) Museum and got a few more shots. In the end it was a nice day to get out and see the city.
