Howdy!

I'm sure y'all have seen me and my employer around - SocialCode is an industry-leading social media advertising and brand management startup incubated within (but operationally autonomous from) the Washington Post Company. We're a Python shop, and we need rockstars.

To be more specific, we play with a lot of common Python stack technologies like Django, Celery, Gevent, and such. But we also go a bit outside the box with Apache technologies like Kafka, a little Erlang and Go, and Amazon technologies like Redshift and EMR. We value good people who pick good tools to solve neat problems.

And we play with a large f***pile of data. As a Facebook Strategic PMD and as a Twitter beta API partner, we get to play with that data in ways other companies can't.

And who are you? You're a ninja. You compose Django middleware in your sleep. You don't get older - you yield another year of age before you StopIteration. You can describe your philosophy on life in terms of metaclasses and decorators. You make jokes to your friends that include LEFT OUTER JOIN statements. When your unit tests fail to assert the right thing, they commit seppuku in shame.

This is a full-time position, based in our DC office that we share with the illustrious WaPo Labs, right across from the Post building near McPherson Square. We pay competitively, offer the full stack of WaPo corporate benefits, and there could even be equity and bonus schedules tossed in for the right candidate.

So send your resumé and GitHub/Bitbucket/VCS-of-choice to [address removed] - mention my name and there's an extra signing bonus.
