I'm happy to help where I can. I'll contact you directly.

Hi folks,

Need help: I'm reviewing an offer from a interested party about bringing some much needed "job board" functionality to the DC Python community (i.e. a partnership arrangement in which all parties involved benefit: employers, DC Python, the partner, the members).

However, IANATA and our organization desperately needs an attorney with whom to discuss issues like "DC Python making money" and "are we doing everything right". If you have any ideas at all about how to handle this situation (i.e. non-profit seeks attorney), please let me know.

Or if you don't have any ideas, but you don't want to see 10 years of DC Python go down the toilet [1], and you look forward to a "big" Python event in DC in 2015, then please consider making a donation today:

[1] I began organizing events in 2004 as part of ZPUGDC. We incorporated in 2008 as ZPUGDC, Inc and began calling ourselves DC Python around the same time. But DC Python is only as strong as its membership who must "own" the organization to keep it growing. We have a lot of members, but I'm not convinced that a large enough percentage are interested in organizing the events I am proposing. If that is the case, then eventually we'll have to fold the corporation :-(. I think this year will be a pivotal point for DC Python such that folks will either rally behind it to make it grow, or not. I prefer the former outcome :-)

A copy of the current financial statement of ZPUGDC, Inc. is available by writing [address removed] or by calling (301)[masked]. Documents and information submitted under the Maryland Solicitations Act are also available, for the cost of postage and copies, from the Maryland Secretary of State, State House, Annapolis MD 21401, (410)[masked].
