Hi all,David Greisen
My name is David Greisen, and I am the new vice president of DC Python. I've been going to DC Python meetings since 2005, and I'm excited to now be joining the team.
Over the next 2-3 months, we are going to experiment with recording our monthly presentations and posting them online. We hope this will be a useful feature for the community and our presenters. We will make this permanent if the experiment works.
Before we begin, though, we need 3-4 volunteers who are willing to get the training needed to run a meeting. Training won't take more than 30 minutes, as running a meeting is really easy. It entails:
* show up 10 minutes early to set up the recording equipment
* draft attendees to run the restricted-access elevator
* at 7pm start the introductions (if small group) or announcements (if large group)
* introduce the speaker(s)
* herd everyone out and to the bar at 9pm
With 3-4 volunteers, any given volunteer will only host a meeting 2-3 times a year.
If you are interested, please let me know.
Thanks!
