Washington, DC Pick-up Soccer is the biggest coed soccer group in DC on meetup. We play mostly year-round. We welcome your help, participation and ideas. Everyone is welcome, and we'd like be able to break-out according to skill level.
During the summer, we had 5 games per week. Three were at or near The Ellipse, one is in Tenleytown, and one game is in Silver Spring, Maryland. It is tough to say, but the skill level of the games, from best to worst, is probably Tenleytown, Tidal, Ellipse, Maryland. However, the Maryland game is probably the most organized (if you like refs, corner kicks, jerseys, throw ins, etc.). During the non-day-light saving time (November-March), we scale back to weekend-only games, about 3 per week. Parking near the Ellipse and Tenleytown games may be iffy. RSVP liberally, but always check if there are enough RSVPs before going. Cleats and shin guards are recommended, but not required at any of the games. If you don't see us for any reason or arrive late, please check the other nearby areas as we may have to move.
At present, all games are free, although we could use $120 for some better goals. Donations are welcome.
If you would like to play some other location, day, and/or time, please post your suggestions in the "Discussions" area above or ask to be a co-organizer. We ideally like at least two co-organizers per game because it puts less pressure on one person. (We all have events that come up.) If you ever notice an error in a game description, or have an idea of how to improve, please let an organizer know.
Hope to see you out there!
