Around the World Embassy Tour will showcase embassies from Africa, Asia, Oceania, the Middle East, and the Americas, with artists and artisans, performers, lecturers, teachers, and others providing a range of educational and cultural programming designed for people of all ages. There will be free drinks (bring id if you're gonna drink alcoholic beverages, lol), free food, folk life music, free stuff, dancing, just chilling, etc. It's awesome!!!!!
Official website information here:
You'll see participating embassies, maps, tips, and more. For those who will be there early and sharp, I'll be at the Australian Embassy with my girlfriend a little before 10am. Australia and Phillipines are two of the embassies that have really long lines later on. They're also both huge. After that though, it's every man/woman for themselves. Lol. If you see me, say hello :-) My walking route will proceed up Massachusetts Avenue from Scott Circle all the way up to the Brazilian embassy almost 2 miles away before taking a bus back to my car. So yeah, bring comfortable walking shoes!
Here's a map that can help plan your trip. http://www.culturaltourismdc.org/portal/embassy-map
If you're coming later in the day and driving, parking is going to be really competitive and tough for the cool embassies. You'll have to park far away and walk but free residential area parking is available.
