Our Tennessee. Our death penalty. Our choice to use it. Our work to abolish it.
Working together we build friendships and the common strength to stand up for what we believe. Personally, as the son of a murder victim and staunch opponent of the death penalty, I have been transformed by the amazing TCASK-ers who also lost family to violence, including Nashvillian of the Year 2004 Charlie Strobel [http://tinyurl.com/5safke ], Nashvillian of the Year 2007 Clemmie Greenlee [http://tinyurl.com/66jgb2 ], and Hector Black [http://tinyurl.com/6qgx48 ].
I have also gotten to know Joyce House, a sweet and honest woman. Her son Paul was on Tennessee 's death row although DNA evidence has exonerated him of the crime. Worse still, Paul has been suffering with MS and can no longer walk, feed, or bathe himself. While he is being re-tried, Meetup will help rally our Nashville members to support Paul and Joyce.
