OUR 100TH EVENT CELEBRATION!

Come celebrate this incredible milestone!

This event is open to only those who have previously attended the NYC Debate meetup. About two days before the event, we'll send you a direct message with the building address and other relevant information.

The RSVP is limited to forty (40) attendees.  We'll provide wine and cheese, but feel free to bring your own! BYOB is strongly encouraged!

[UPDATE: 10/14/13]: Here are the categories for the eight debate topics -- the actual debate questions will be presented at the event.

In keeping with the fun and festive theme of the event, the topic categories are presented in Jeopardy TV show format.

   •   American History 101
   •   For Lovers of Philosophy & Wisdom
   •   For Reality-Based, Role-Playing Thinkers
   •   Technology and History
   •   Technology and Society
   •   Let's Go NYC! (Battle of the Boroughs)
   •   For Film Buffs: Best Movie Trilogies of All-Time
   •   Cutesies, Please!

The topics will be debated and discussed in a small group format.  While each table is assigned to a single topic you can visit multiple tables and participate in as many topics as you wish.

Happy 100th! Pleasant get-together. Good seeing old regulars and new regulars. Yes, we should get-together to give back to the community as a group...maybe this holiday season. Possibly collecting toys for children, Junior Achievement presentations, random acts of kindness... Many thanks to Thomas and Patrick for hosting. We enjoyed the food and wine, and the Amenities rooms were beautiful and quiet for conversation! Much nicer and quieter than public atrium. Now back to some serious debating...

Yes. Thomas. Is this shut down our civil war??? Does the divide so desperate one party from the other that we need a civil war to breaks the divide between the rich and the poor... rory

Hi Rory, that's a great topic and we can propose that during the Nov. 2 meetup, which is specifically designed for political topics.
