I thought last meeting's debate topic, "for and against NYC congestion
pricing", was very relevant and local and generally worked out very
well. Along that vein, the idea for congestion pricing came from
London. Another idea that NYC is planning to implement which is
already in place in London is the "Ring of Steel." In order to deter
terrorism, the government plans to use thousands of cameras in
downtown Manhattan to track license plates and people. For more
I think the Ring of Steel could make for a good debate for next time,
although I think almost all of our members would side against it.
