“ Despite the poor acoustics, a good crowd and excellent candidate representation. But no time for q & a, which was unfortunate. ”

“ This month's MeetUp at Big City was particularly enjoyable and gratifying for me, especially since I was able to help with the meetup itself, assisting in signing people in, giving out nametags, and spur-of the moment requests from the Host. Lewis did a great job making sure everyone was comfortable, relaxed, and getting across all the information in the time period needed, at the same time creating a lively spirited atmosphere of expectancy for Freddie Ferrer's presentation. Of course, Howard Dean's great achievements to date had to be cheered, and this happily done with great vigor. Freddie talked about the Drum Major Institute, and answered some tough questions on how he would address problematic issues; I felt that the attendees got a good overview and intro to who this candidate is, and what he stands for. The purpose of introducing one of our Mayoral candidates was fulfilled by this meetup, and many people stayed after, exchanging cards, discussing what we had just heard, and enthusiastically planning to come to the March Meetup! Again, I believe that this was a great meetup, one that inspired many people, including several "new" attendees that I brought along. I'm confident that this trend will continue -- the energy keeps on growing! :-D ”

“ I like the multiple DFNYC groups. I live in Queens and am happy that the orginization is already flexible and large enough to be near my home and about my parochial issues while connecting me to the city at large. This is what is great about DFNYC. ”

“ I was, of course, glad to see a group of active, passionate people that are united behind specific worthwhile causes. On the other hand, at times I felt as if my own opinions might have shocked the others more than they should. For example, I don't believe that letters to media people fall on open ears (an opinion expressed that evening) and I don't believe Democrats have been aggressive enough in attacking their opponents the Republicans (something that we Democrats tend to mistake for taking the "moral highroad"). Hope we can continue to make progress. ”

“ This was my first time at this Meetup. It seemed like there was a core group of people who had been in it since early Dean, along with a bunch of newcomers. I felt a lot of commitment from like-minded people. ”
