Why A Doughnut Hole?

When the Republican congress came up with a perscription drug plan, they asked all the drug companies what would work best for them and they came up with the doughnut hole. For you to young to know, what it does is cover you perscription drugs up to a certain dollar amount and then there is a hole or gap that leaves you unprotected from coverage of medications until you have spent enough of your own money for the coverage to begin again. The gap or doughnut hole is about $2000 dollars. Why would you write a bill that favors the drug companies and is against seniors (unless you are in their pocket) that are on fixed incomes? This bill was written by the Republican party while they had sole control of congress and they would not accept any changes. You ask yourself who benefits from this drug plan because sooner or later it will effect you? It is so important for seniors and those that plan on being seniors to get rid of the Republicans in congress and have democrats change this policy!
