Kids' Coder Dojo at Denhac

  • June 9, 2013 · 12:00 PM

The Kids Coder Dojo at Denhac is a computer programming class designed for elementary- through highschool-aged kids. Students will begin by using a free and open source visual programming language called Scratch (http://scratch.mit.edu/, available on Windows, MacOSX and Linux), and will be able to move on to more advanced languages as they progress at their own pace.

Attendees under the age of 13 are required to be accompanied by a designated guardian (though guardians are encouraged to come for all ages, and learning and having fun will be mandatory for all attendees). Attendees should bring a laptop or netbook for each student they bring if they can (and you are encouraged to bring extras if possible for those without access to a computer).

Doors will open at 11:30AM and instruction will begin promptly at 12:00PM. We will be wrapping up at 3:00PM.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
