Hosted by the City of Golden with support from the Jefferson County Economic Development Corporation, the non-profit formerly known as the Denver Innovators’ Workshop has moved to Jefferson County and the City of Golden. It is now called the JeffCo Innovators’ Workshop.
The JeffCo Innovators’ Workshop offers advice, inspiration, and support to new business “start-ups” and entrepreneurs and seeks to assist those companies that wish to introduce a new product to the market. A not-for-profit currently coordinated with volunteers from the IX Power Foundation, the organization welcomes local business sponsorships of its meetings and activities.
The Workshop is currently holding monthly meetings hosted by the City of Golden with support from the Jefferson County Economic Development Corporation. The meetings typically include an educational presentation on some aspect of starting a new business or bringing a new invention to market, a networking session, an advice and sharing period, and announcements of opportunities for business help and support within Jefferson County.
The first meeting held in Golden, will be on Wednesday, November 20 from 6:30 p.m. to about 8:30 p.m. at the American Mountaineering Center at 710 10th Street in Golden. More information about the group can be found at www.jeffcoinnovators.com or by calling 505-661-1000, ext. 920.
“The land of opportunity for innovators and new business start-ups is right here in Golden and Jefferson County” said John R. “Grizz” Deal, the Chairman of the JeffCo Innovators’ Workshop. “The
incentives, the support, and most importantly the sincere interest of the local people in helping businesses and inventors foster exciting, novel ideas, products and commerce is right here, 10 miles West of the Colorado state capital. The City of Golden and the Jefferson County Economic Development Corporation have been most gracious with their assistance in launching the Workshop here and we are excited about our upcoming events in the county.”
“We are very excited that the IX Power Foundation has chosen Jefferson County for this new initiative,” said Michelle Claymore, Vice President of Jefferson County Economic Development Corporation. “The JeffCo Innovators’ Workshop will help meet a longstanding need to engage and assist the many high-tech innovators throughout the County.”
The JeffCo Innovators’ Workshop meeting on Wednesday, November 20 at the American Mountaineering Center will feature a presentation by Deal entitled “Perils and Pitfalls, Fame and Fortune of Intellectual Property,” and will also include a short talk and Q&A on crowd source funding from Bo Pitto, CEO of Sport Bumper, who just successfully raised his first round of outside capital via Kickstarter.
