How to Rectify a Birth Chart

This month's meeting will feature a lecture by Chris Brennan on the topic of birth chart rectification.

Rectification is a process that is used in order to determine what time a person was born when the birth time is either uncertain or unknown. This lecture will present some traditional and modern techniques for determining the approximate time of a person’s birth, and especially for determining the correct rising sign and house placements when the birth is known to have occurred within a several hour time span.

Chris Brennan is a practicing astrologer from Denver, Colorado. He was educated at Kepler College, where he focused on cross-cultural comparisons between the astrological traditions. He is the former President of the Association for Young Astrologers as well as the former Research Director of the National Council for Geocosmic Research. His forthcoming book is titled Hellenistic Astrology: The Study of Fate. He conducts consultations and teaches online classes on astrology through his website:

Length of the Meeting

The meeting will start promptly at 3:00 PM, and the first lecture will go until 3:45, with a few minutes for questions and answers afterward. The second lecture will begin at 4:00 PM, with time for questions and answers until about 5:00 PM. After that people are free to hang out and socialize in the cafe.

Note that the Mercury Cafe also serves brunch earlier in the day, so if anyone wants to come early, around 1:00 PM or so, there will probably be some other astrologers there having brunch.

Lecture Fee

The fee for attending the meeting is $5.

If you can find a spot to park on the street then it is free, although there is a two hour limit on some spots. There is also a parking lot right across from the Mercury Cafe on the other side of California Street that only charges $1 for parking on weekends.

Library Books

Just a reminder that the Denver Astrology Group now has a small library, and you can check books out from it at each meeting.

It is only $10 a year to sign up for the library, and you can check out 1 book at each meeting, and then you will have to return it at the next meeting the following month.

See our website for a complete catalog of all of the books currently available in the library:

If you would like us to bring a book to the meeting for you to check out then just send an email to Chris at: [masked]

We will also be bringing a box of some of the best books from the library with us to the meeting, for those of you who would like to browse through them in person.

We look forward to seeing everyone at the meeting!

Absolutely excellent. Having a family chart that needs rectifying, this was a grand start for me. Well presented, and clear.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
