We will not be holding one of our regular monthly meetings this Saturday since there is a ROMA meeting scheduled in Boulder on the same day. However, we will be holding the second class in our series of introductory classes on astrology that day. We will resume our normal monthly meetings on the second Saturday of next month. Intro to Astrology Series - Class 2: Signs of the Zodiac

In our first class last month we focused on the significations of the planets, with some other remarks about the nature of astrology within the broader context of divination and synchronicity. At our class this Saturday we take the next step into the field with an examination of the 12 signs of the zodiac and their usage in horoscopic astrology.

In this class we will cover such topics as: the history and origins of the zodiac, the difference between the tropical and sidereal zodiac, the different properties of each of the signs (i.e. modality, gender, element), the notion of planetary 'rulership', and the basic delineation of planets in signs.

After the class each attendee will be given access to an online course site where additional reading material on the topic can be accessed.

The class will last for about an hour and a half, from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM on Saturday June 12th at the Mercury Cafe.

The fee for the class is $10.
