In honor of the upcoming Venus retrograde period later this year, this month's meeting will be on using astrology to study relationships.

Chris and Leisa will lead a discussion on different techniques that are used to study both the types of relationships a person is predisposed towards, as well as determining the nature of the relationship itself once two people get together.

There will be plenty of time for discussion during each of these areas, and more experienced members are encouraged to join us and share their experience and observations about certain techniques.

Here is a general outline of some of the topics that will be discussed:

Natal indications - The first step in studying relationships is the analysis of each person's birth chart in order to see what types of people and relationships they are generally predisposed towards. We will discuss some techniques for studying this area of a person's life through their natal chart.

Synastry - Synastry involves comparing the birth chart of one person to the birth chart of another person in order to determine general areas of ease and difficulty in their interactions. Some specific techniques for looking at the synastry between couples will be discussed at this point.

Composite charts - When two people come together the relationship can take on a life of its own. A composite chart is used to look at what two people create when they come together by constructing a third chart from the natal midpoints which represents the chart of the relationship itself.

Attendees are encouraged to bring specific chart examples that illustrate any of these areas. If you would like us to make photocopies of a chart that you are bringing, then send us an email ahead of time and we can make the copies for you and bring them to the meeting. There is no charge for the meeting, although donations of 3 to 5 dollars are appreciated, as they help to cover the $20 a month fee for hosting this page on Meetup.com. Any additional money collected goes towards future speakers.
