FFRF Picnic

The FFRF-Denver Metro Chapter's first Summer Solstice picnic is almost here!  We're having a picnic in place of our regular meeting this month, and hope to see as many people there as possible.  Whether you're an 'official' member, have just attended a few of our meetings, or don't know much about the organization and would like to find out more - please consider coming out to spend some casual/social time with your fellow free-thinkers and church/state separation supporters.

Bring: potluck dish as per list below, any item you may want to grill (e.g. a favorite bratwurst that you are sure wont be brought by the main-dish folks), your favorite lawn chair, your beverage of choice (the board will be providing some adult beverages - most likely beer), games, etc

Potluck item to bring, based on the first initial of your last name:

A-B) Side Dish or Salad
C-D) Side Dish, Bread or Chips
E-J) Dessert
K-R) Main Dish
S-Z) Main Dish

Provided: plates, utensils, cups, napkins and condiments for grill items (mustard, ketchup, relish, mayo), charcoal for grill

Oh, one more thing.  Kids are very welcome.

Hope to see you there!

Jim and I enjoyed meeting everyone and always great to meet new people and listen to new thoughts and share ideas. Hope to see some of you again at the Secular Conference in July.

Very good choice of locale; convenient to pretty much everyone, no crowding or anyone obnoxious around, great facilities.

One lesson learned: we should have brought a broom. I don't like leaving a mess on the ground.

There were a lot of new people and new faces, it would be good to get a good introduction in there, i Know this was a social event, but i would have liked a Welcome, these are our members and this is our cause.
aside from that the people were nice and i felt great finding like minded people.

Good point, Carlos - we'll try to be better about that for future events.

It wasva perfect gathering for my guest and me; great food and the kind of people I so enjoy because they allow me to simply be myself and true to myself.

Don't think I'll make it this time...have another event that evening, and an atheist picnic in Boulder Sunday--maybe some of you can make it there...?

    June 19, 2013

Carlos - maybe a side dish? Looking forward to seeing you there.

    What should we bring? :)

    June 19, 2013

    • Scot S.

Amanda - bring a main dish if that works (have you in the K-R group), but the board will be providing some grilling items as well, so if you have something else in mind, that is fine. Looking forward to seeing you there.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
