Hello all,
I've been invited to give a presentation about Atheists for Humanity, Atheism and Charity to students down on Auraria Campus. The discussion will focus on the reasons behind the creation of AFH (mainly destigmatization of atheists and atheism) and atheist voluntarism and charity. I will also spend time discussing some of the topics covered in our Eudaimonia meetups - i.e. what it means to live a good life as an atheist. Finally, I'll also talk about other ways to work towards bringing other atheists into the mix (and out of the closet) and the importance of creating an atheist community.
I'm also planning on leaving plenty of time for Q & A - at which time I may ask for some additional input from any of our members who attend.
So why attend? Mainly I think it will be interesting to talk to the next generation of atheists to find out what battles they're fighting, what questions they have, why they chose to be atheists, etc. Now that the tides are turning and atheism is becoming more prevalent, we should help and encourage the next generation to stay vigilant.
Drinks after the presentation and questions will probably be in order
.

Any and all are welcome to attend.
Gracias,
Eric
One of the students on campus. She's involved with the Metro Atheists and something called Urban Leadership. I think she also works down on campus. She saw what AFH was doing and thought it would be of interest to the students. So we'll see:)
Thanks! I was curious because I'm a student at Auraria and can't find any active Atheists groups...
I'm not sure how active the Metro State Atheists are, but here is their website: http://metrostateatheists.wordpress.com/![]()
Hopefully some of their folks will be at the presentation and can talk about what they're doing and how to get involved. Remind me at the presentation and I'll introduce you to the girl who asked me to speak (haven't met her face to face yet:)).
