Ian Harris makes returns to Denver @ Comedy Works South

Description: Ian Harris makes returns to Denver @ Comedy Works South

Ian Harris: Critical & Thinking is the incredibly smart and irreverent new comedy special from the brilliantly skeptical mind of Ian Harris. Armed with a wide array of characters, razor like wit and critical thinking skills, Ian skewers commonly held beliefs, taking aim at such topics as Religion, Ghosts, The Paranormal, Comforting Notions, Astrology, Pop-Mysticism, Alternative Medicine, Racism and Apocalyptic Claims. It is easy to see why Ian immediately elicits comparisons to George Carlin and Bill Maher.

Funny and insightful as always. However, he made a joke against the anti-vaccine crowd and yet, it never ceases to amaze me how the critical thinking of most skeptics is tossed aside when analyzing vaccine data. Just a link to get anyone started, especially if you have young children http://www.vaccinationcouncil.org/2011/11/17/smoke-mirrors-and-the-disappearance-of-polio/

I wrote a reply to your comment, but it got to be too long, so I tried putting it in the General Discussion section. But there are 666 topics, and I didn't want to be the one to make it 667, so I posted it on an unrelated discussion here: http://www.meetup.com...]

So a secular comedian comes to Denver and it's a weekend I'm out of town... figures. Still, I will help promote it. Let's pack the house!

Hey...maybe a church would donate its sanctuary when they're not using it?

What could be funnier than laughing about religion? Almost as funny as politics....

I would totally go to this. Possible venues: the Improv (Stapleton), Voodoo Comedy Lounge, Bug Theater, Avenue Theater....who's working on this? Anyone?

Can I join? I have a great idea for the Ten Commandments.

Just throwing out an idea hoping it will help: the Comedy Works South will rent out Curtis ballroom for free if we use their catering. The lowest catering option is $25/person (or somewhere right around there). If we do a cover charge it could be a good solution.

What is your schedule like? Open on what nights to come to Salida?

    May 12, 2013

  • Lori B.

Would you all be willing to come to Salida. I could put you up in my BnB and ask the Humanist group to come listen to your comedy and find a venue. Lori
