What factors influenced you to emerge as a non-believer in a believing society?

Probably the main thing was all the impossibly ludicrous ideas one was asked to go along with which seem to include all the worst attributes of humanity, in the name of some inconsistent, all too human in hatred and intolerance, improbable deity. Besides, the skeptics and non-believers' numbers seem to be growing as the level of understanding & knowledge of the universe grows. I feel we need, as an extremely large minority, to start flexing our collective "muscle" to stop the casual yet vigorous indoctrination of our society, indeed the Human community to religious, thus apocalyptic ideas. If you truly believe in religious ideology you have to admit that it doesn't end well for the majority of Man-kind, those billions who don't believe as you believe.

What do you hope to get out of this group?

Meet new friends with similar ideas and hopefully come away with some new points of perspective.

What do you feel you can offer the group?

Support, new ideas, friendship and fun.

Introduction

Hello, you can just call me God-Free. I enjoy hunting for facts and debunking dangerous myths. Let's get together and discuss no everything from good food to the problems of the world. Maybe we can come up with solutions or at least some good chow!
