Rapid City, SDUSA

I despise hypocrisy in all forms and was utterly unable to perform the herculean feats of compartmentalization that would have been necessary to maintain my belief in the religious faith I was immersed in while growing up.
Good conversation, good company, and intellectual stimulation.
I am in Denver for the next 10 days on business and would welcome a chance to meet like-minded people, there surely are not many in SD.
Atheists are often at a disadvantage vis-a-vis religion in the social support networks traditional faiths offer. Whether we are religious or not, our lives can unexpectedly shoot sideways and having a support network to call on is useful and comforting. When sudden illnesses, deaths in the family, etc., occur it is good to have someone to call if the kids need watching for an evening, or the family pet(s) need looking after for a few days while attending a funeral out-of-town. A list those willing to make themselves available for (fill in the blank) would be good way to form a sense of community. Just a thought. I will also look into (yet again) starting a similar group in the Rapid City/Black Hills area and any names of those in that area who might be interested would be welcome.
