I've spent most of my life in the Bible Belt (a recent transplant) and have witnessed first hand how horrible people can act while hiding behind their particular version of god. Even as a kid the idea of god and the supernatural seemed a little silly. I always preferred learning about what science had to say about the world we live in. It made more sense. It was logical. It was beautiful. Understanding the world as it really is makes me happy to be apart of it. And that's what gave me the courage to come out as an atheist.
I would like to meet other free-thinking types with whom I can have open, honest dialogue about life and the state of the world, and maybe nerd out with other godless science lovers. I mean let's face it, even though I'm out of the Bible Belt, I'm still surrounded by a majority of people who believe in some form of the supernatural.
I can provide friendship to all and support to those who may just be coming out as non-believers.
I am good without god.
