I was never pushed to believe by my parents, friends or family. I was encouraged to think (and choose) for myself. That and good old fashioned logic.
I'd like to learn more about how atheists can get organized and create a real voice in society. Non-believers are a large group demographically and have the potential for positive change. All we lack is focus and commitment.
Good ideas, commitment to action and hands-on participation in getting ourselves and other atheists out of the closet to promote positive change.
To spend time with other like-minded people for some good mental stimulation (something everyday life often lacks).
Meet great people, have stimulating and interesting conversations, share opinions about what it means to be atheist, do some good for the community, and just have a great time. When there's no afterlife to pine for, you have to make the extra effort to squeeze as much fun and and enjoyment out of this life as possible.
