Working in various denominations for some 50 years helped me to see that the only one listening to any of our stuff is the people in our lives, and that the shame basis of western religions is toxic, therefore dangerous. There is always more to experience, to learn and to become.....
Looking for thought-provoking dialogue, divorced from magical thinking.
Experience as a licensed mental health professional, addictions counselor and writer.
After decades of dualistic thinking as a bit of a religious fanatic, I have periodically broken through the thin veil into reality, where I now intend to stay. Call me a monist member of FFRF, Denver Atheists and the Secular Hub.
I can see great potential for the group if it is able to define both long term and short term goals and focus. Finding project or aim to support will unify better than anything, and give everyone the satisfaction of making a difference.
