So, I'm looking to move to Denver (or possibly Boulder) sometime next year. I originally hail from Charleston, WV. I'm looking for somewhere with a little less humidity, bigger city life, but plenty of outdoor rec opportunities. I think the Denver area fits the bill.

So what's it like, living in Denver as an atheist? Here in West Virginia, you're pretty much looked at as a crazy person.

I'm also wondering how easy it is to find a tech job there. Right now I'm a senior IT specialist. I don't want to move to Denver only to end up homeless haha.

Anyway, any suggestions, tips, or stories about your own move to and life in Denver would be greatly appreciated! :)

Hi Steve,

Hope you are able to join us out here soon! Denver and Boulder are both great places to be as a non-believer! We have very active meetup groups and you should check out what we are doing with the Secular Hub (www.secularhub.org) to help build community. The great groups like the Denver Atheists, Humanists of Colorado, Boulder Atheists, Freedom From Religion are active and offer a lot of events where you will get to know people.

The tech market in Denver is pretty good too - no guarantees, of course, but this is a good town to be a tech!

I'm originally from the east coast too, but I love it out here and can't imagine moving anywhere else. Hope to see you out here in the near future.

Kimberly.
