Is post-metaphysics no metaphysics?

What exactly is metaphysics anyways?  And why do we need to get "post" of it?  Or do we?  Is the myth of the given....a myth?

Wilber, from "Integral Spirituality":

"Kant's critical philosophy replaced ontological objects with structures of the subject.  In essence, this means that we do no perceive empirical objects in a completely realistic, pregiven fashion, but rather structures of the knowing subject impart various characteristics to the known object that then appear to belong to the object - but really don't' they are, rather, co-creations of the knowing subject.  Various a priori categories of the knowing subject help to fashion or construct reality as we know it.  Reality is not a perception, but a conception, at least in part."

Or as Metzinger might say, we perceivce reality through a pane of glass (darkly?), which we don't even see.

But that begs the really, really big question....WHAT'S THAT ELEPHANT DOING IN THE ROOM??????????

If you want to see the elephant, come Wednesday evening to People Place and let's tease this conundrum out into the open.
